Gerard Zack and Nonprofit Resource Center provide customized private training for all of the following:
  • For Trade and Professional Associations — As training for members, usually as a 1-day or 2-day pre- or post-conference session that we co-sponsor with your association (example: "Protecting Your Business Against Fraud")

  • For Nonprofit Boards of Directors — As customized training on board governance and financial oversight

  • For CPA Firms — As continuing professional education for audit, accounting and tax professionals

  • For Nonprofit Organization Staff — As skills enhancement training for your accounting and non-financial staff

Topics Available

All of the accounting, audit, tax and financial management topics described for our public programs, listed under our "seminars" button, are available as customized private training. Each day of training can be customized to your exact needs by taking an "a la carte" approach to the many topics available. In other words, you can compose each 8-hour day with as much or as little of each available topic as you'd like. That way, we can provide brief overviews or in-depth explanations of topics based on your specific needs. In addition, other topics available include:
  • Fundraising Compliance Issues
  • Internal Controls and Fraud Prevention
  • Internal Controls in the H.R. Function
  • Risk Management
  • Documentation of Policies and Procedures
  • I.T. Controls
We can work with you to customize a program that fits your unique needs.

Board Governance Training

In addition, we have developed a specialized training program on Effective Board Governance for Nonprofit Organizations. This session, which is usually scheduled for a 3 to 6 hour time period, covers all of the critical roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members, with special consideration given to financial oversight, including accounting and tax issues. Other topics covered include board and committee structure, liability issues, relationship with executive directors and staff, budgeting, measuring and analyzing results, strategic planning, insurance issues, governing documents, establishing an appropriate level of oversight, conflicts of interest and ethics, and many other important topics. And best of all - the training is customized to your specific organization.

Whether used as a board orientation or as a special educational session, this training is bound to result in a more effective and efficient board of directors.

The cost of your investment in any of these private training programs is based on a combination of factors, especially the length of the session. Call us at (301) 987-0287, or send us a request by e-mail for further details or a specific price quotation.
